Searious Business is looking for a Business Developer, available for 32 - 40h/week.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a creative, committed team member to start in March 2022. This vacancy is a unique opportunity to be part of Searious Business, a social enterprise committed to preventing plastics from entering our environment. The successful candidate will have the chance to get involved across a wide range of activities – supporting projects, contributing to business development, and helping us to expand and improve our business.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a scale-up with a small team of mavericks but work with some of the world’s biggest brands to help them improve their sustainable use of plastic. We work on an extensive range of services, from sustainability consulting to product development. Ultimately, we seek to make the biggest impact in sustainability while at the same time helping businesses grow.

We work at the forefront of the circular economy and are considered leaders in the field. We operate as game-changers in a B2B setting and run innovation projects for some of the major household brands to make a difference in the world of plastics.

WHO ARE YOU?

You’d describe yourself as pro-active, seeking solutions and commercial opportunities in even the most difficult situations. Able to understand complex company structures and vested interests, you are comfortable selling services to large corporations. You’d describe yourself as creative, committed, and confident—a real go-getter. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in business innovation and sustainability who is also sales-minded. You must have an affinity with the circular economy and demonstrate both interest and knowledge in this field. Experience within FMCG is a plus. Fluency in English and Dutch is a must, and preferably also French and/or German. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, pioneering start-up style environment. For the sake of creating synergies and cross-overs within our team, you need to be willing to work regularly from our office in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. .

KEY ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE

You can help push our team to the next level by strengthening our commercial position and helping to acquire new projects. You are a good communicator and good at connecting the dots. You will be responsible for securing and carrying out projects focused on avoiding plastic waste together with major users and producers of plastics. This involves supporting circular design strategies and circular business models, defining implementation steps and setting up collaborative efforts. In your role, it is crucial you are aligned with our mission and core values and that you are flexible and enthusiastic about playing a proactive role towards clients and a diverse range of collaborative partners.
