Secondary school Augustinianum in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, selected Searious Business to be the beneficiary client in their yearly initiative 'The Best Idea'. In 'The Best Idea 2018', 92 students of the fifth grade worked on practical and technical solutions for single-use plastic.
Over a period of three months, more than 30 teams competed with each other to think and develop the most promising and feasible solution for single-use plastic.
Exactly this thinking beyond borders is what Searious Business stands for, in its mission to prevent plastic leakage into our environment.
Giving a voice to our youth
As the immense magnitude of linear usage of plastics unfolds in increasing awareness of the harm to our lands and ocean, it is clear that our next generations will have to deal with the choices we make today. "By giving our youth a voice and letting them tell how they think plastics usage should change, we can benefit from the open and problem-solving attitude combined with latest insights from current technology innovations", according to Willemijn Peeters. She is Ocean Ambassador of the Netherlands, promoting the importance of a clean and living ocean throughout the nation and abroad.

The finale was held at the end of February 2018, with a grand award ceremony on March 13.
